Project Engineer - Mechanical/Electrical

As our SME - Mechanical/Electrical, you will be part of our 24/7 support team and responsible for the technical assignment and diagnostics of equipment and system. You will assist and perform remote troubleshooting, diagnostics and find solutions to technical problems. As part of the role, you will also have the ability to recommend product or process modifications and/or improvements. Should have hands-on experience and thorough technical & engineering knowledge related to all Mechanical equipment such as Diesel engines, Pneumatic systems, Hydraulic systems, lifting gear, Marine systems & ancillary equipment installed on Jack-up rigs, Land rigs, Lifeboats & Accommodation barges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify solutions to technical issues raised by client/ rig personnel associated with Mechanical Equipment.

  • Support in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues.

  • To be part of the client's technical team and support all client needs pertaining to the Mechanical department.

  • Lead/participate in the technical investigation and root cause analysis and submit the reports concerning DT events and equipment failures and advise on corrective actions and recommendations.

  • Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem.

  • Record and Track issues through to resolution, within projected time limits.

  • Coordinate with clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat.

  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate PICs.

  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.

  • Support Operations/Project engineers in creating relevant AAB for transferring lessons learned, best practices etc.

  • Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate technical solutions

  • Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time and create/review root cause analysis and detail orientated with the ability to provide RCA, analytical reports and concise feedback.

  • Visits rigs to support extended downtime repairs, audits and regulatory inspections to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Review Preventive maintenance system, and OEM technical bulletins and advise rigs/clients based on equipment applicability.

  • Rig visits to assist the on-site technical team as per requirement

  • Provide appropriate engineering solutions to Mechanical/Marine equipment

  • Co-ordinate with OEM, Supply chain team & buyers to evaluate/resolve/advise on technical concerns

  • Support reviewing/creating work scopes, spares & part numbers as routine or for OOS projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Mechanical or Equivalent engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Marine/ Rig Maintenance & technical engineering.

  • Understanding and knowledge of the industry's statutory regulations such as API, ABS class, ASME etc.

  • Computer Based Maintenance knowledge

  • Managing customer relationships & stakeholder management

  • Effective communication, Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and Team player.

  • Adapt proactively and deliver reliability.
