Rig Manager – Office Based

Job Summary:

One of our key customers a leading offshore drilling contractor are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Rig Manager to oversee the operations of multiple offshore jack-up drilling rigs from the onshore operational hub.

This leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all drilling activities across assigned rigs, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

The Rig Manager serves as the key liaison between offshore rig crews, onshore support teams, and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall operational leadership for multiple offshore jack-up rigs.

  • Coordinate with Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs) to ensure efficient rig operations, safety compliance, and performance targets.

  • Monitor drilling programs, schedules, budgets, and KPIs, ensuring optimal operational results and minimal downtime.

  • Lead daily operational reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations in collaboration with rig crews and HSE personnel.

  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Manage logistics, personnel movements, and material supply between onshore and offshore assets.

  • Review and approve rig maintenance plans, drilling reports, and cost summaries.

  • Support project planning and execution of new wells, workovers, and rig moves.

  • Coordinate with engineering, geoscience, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution of drilling programs.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement lessons learned across all rigs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum, or a related technical field (preferred).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore drilling operations, with at least 2 years in a Rig Manager or Senior Drilling Supervisor role.

  • Strong background in jack-up rig operations and well control procedures.

  • Proven leadership skills managing cross-functional teams across multiple assets.

  • Excellent understanding of offshore HSE regulations, API standards, and international drilling codes.

  • Ability to interpret and evaluate drilling programs and technical documentation.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency with drilling management software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification (Supervisor Level).

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional offshore visits.

  • Fast-paced environment requiring high levels of coordination and decision-making.
