Operations Manager

One of our key customers, a market leading offshore drilling contractor, located in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of offshore jack up rig operations.

You will lead a team of highly competent Rig Managers and provide visible, hands-on leadership while managing operational resources, supporting business development, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic input into overall business direction and translate strategy into operational goals and measurable objectives.

  • Lead and manage day-to-day rig operations with a strong emphasis on safety, crew welfare, and operational efficiency.

  • Oversee offshore rig activities and ensure contractual and safety obligations are fulfilled.

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, report performance against targets quarterly and annually.

  • Ensure strict compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

  • Conduct regular rig visits and chair weekly management meetings to support operational execution.

  • Ensure all contractual obligations to clients are aligned with company safety and legal standards.

  • Manage rig hire contracts and maintain strong relationships with clients to maximize value.

  • Support business development initiatives, including rig marketing, tendering, and client engagement.

  • Provide leadership and support to Rig Managers and direct reports, including mentoring, coaching, and professional development.

  • Plan rig scheduling and manage transitions for contract conclusions.

  • Lead and support change initiatives and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

  • In collaboration with the HSE Manager, ensure the health and safety of all offshore personnel.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policy and procedures.

  • Liaise with the corporate office on commercial matters, including tenders and proposals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; additional technical or management qualifications preferred.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in rig operations, with proven experience in a Operations Manager role.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent planning, organization, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Effective conflict management and team-building abilities.

  • Proficient in operational control and performance monitoring.
