The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee core accounting operations, ensure robust financial reporting, and drive cost efficiency across the organization. This is a leadership role where you’ll work cross-functionally and influence key financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage end-to-end accounting activities across multiple functions
Oversee financial reporting for internal stakeholders and external requirements
Drive cost accounting, budgeting, and cost control initiatives
Ensure accurate cost allocation aligned with internal controls and accounting standards
Manage project cost tracking, reporting, and performance analysis
Oversee accounts payable operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Support procurement by reviewing contracts and minimizing financial risk
Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and internal policies
Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of finance professionals
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
Strong background in general accounting, cost accounting, and budgeting
Hands-on experience with accounts payable and fixed assets
Exposure to procurement finance and contract review
Proven experience in team leadership and talent development
Must have experience in Oil & Gas or similar industries
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP
Familiarity with best practices in cost management and financial controls
Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
MBA or postgraduate qualification (preferred)
CPA or CMA certification (highly desirable)
