HSSE Manager

We are partnering with a well-established Oil & Gas operator in the UAE to appoint a highly experienced HSSE Manager who will serve as a key member of the extended leadership team.

This is a strategic and operational leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, with full responsibility for driving Health, Safety, Security & Environmental excellence across domestic and international operations.

You will play a critical role in embedding proactive HSSE standards across high-risk operations, influencing leadership teams, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve corporate HSSE policies, standards, and management systems

  • Provide strategic HSSE leadership across assets, projects, and operational sites

  • Lead risk management processes including Risk Assessments, Hazard Assessments, and HAZOPs

  • Oversee incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are embedded across the organization

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory reporting requirements

  • Manage contractor HSE performance and review partner HSSE systems

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational risk

  • Develop and oversee Emergency Response Plans and crisis management processes

  • Lead HSSE training and capability development across the business

  • Act as the primary interface with regulatory authorities

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Science-related discipline

  • Recognized international HSSE / QHSE certification

  • 15+ years of management-level experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments

  • 10+ years in senior HSE management roles within high-risk operations

  • Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO, OHSAS, OSHA, NFPA, etc.)

  • Experience across upstream and downstream operations including drilling (onshore & offshore), production, construction, workover, and seismic operations

  • Exposure to Oil Majors is highly advantageous

  • Experience in Middle Eastern environments preferred

  • Proven crisis management capability
